Ci got out of her dad's pick-up truck and looked around. The only thing she could see around her was grass, except for a lone pine tree at the top of the hill closest to her. Walking back towards the trunk of the car, she grabbed her duffle bag and lifted it onto her shoulder, grunting under the weight of it and leaning towards the left after placing it on that shoulder. Ci looked over and saw her dad, who was slowly lumbering towards her. For a moment, a sense of nostalgia washed over Ci, as she thought of the long nights she had spent with her father, sitting in bed, laughing, reading bed-time stories, and being close to each other. As she quickly approached this new chapter in her life, Ci wasn't sure she wanted to leave her life she left behind. Sure, she would come back in the winter, but Ci knew she would never look at the little farm house surrounded by miles of field that she had called home for 11 years of her life again. The feeling left soon though, and Ci began to trudge up the hill to the pine tree. After a few minutes, Ci could begin to see the tops of a forest and roofs of what seemed like mini Parthenons.  Her jaw dropped once she saw the whole image. Below her was a wide expanse of cabins, all decorated to suit different themes, a sparkling lake, a large, blue farm house, and a looming forest. Tired from her trek up the hill, Ci set her bag on the ground, but quickly picked it back up again when she saw a horse galloping toward her. Well, what she thought was a horse, but quickly realized it was a centaur. Even though her dad had explained the whole "mythical creatures are real thing" to her, and Ci thought she was prepared for it, she wasn't. In fact, she felt awkward and clumsy when the centaur finally got within talking distance to her. She almost started hyperventilating when he began to talk.
"Hello, young half-blood, I am Chiron. I'm glad you didn't arrive here bloody! It's nice that we don't have to clean you…unlike every other demigod that comes through here…" Chiron scratched his head and stomped his feet a bit, and resumed the conversation once Ci's dad finally got to the top of the hill.
"Hello, you must be-er- what's your daughter's name?"
"Circe." Ci looked over at her dad and gave him a death look. She hated that name, and she never understood why, just because her mother was a goddess her dad had to go all Greek Lit on her and name her that.
"Right then, Circe, we-"
"Please, just call me Ci." Ci looked up at that horse-man and gave him her best, Dad-can-I-please-have-a-puppy-face and smiled.
"Err, we'll get to names later. Right, so this is your daughter, and you know that she's a demigod?" Chiron looked confused by this, and Ci couldn't really understand why; he made it seem like it was some big secret.
"Her mother gave her to me without any fuss, so I've known. I just hope I don't forget in my old age!" Mr. Lamb chuckled at this a bit, the laugh lines on his face shining. "Yes, so, she told me about this place, and when I saw the first sign of monster-type things, I should take her here right away!"
"Yes, yes, that would be the thing to do. If you don't mind me asking, what did you see, exactly?" I stepped in for this one, since it did happen to me.
"I was tending the goats and found a sea-goat." Chiron looked surprised at this, almost like her was expecting for me to have found a dragon.
"Well, that's not exactly what we categorize as a monster, per say, but I admire the love you have for your daughter." Chiron then turned to Ci and smiled. "So Cir-er, I mean Ci, ready to explore Camp Half-Blood?" He gestured towards the camp, but first Ci turned to her dad and hugged him, real hard, like she used to do when she was a little girl. Stepping back, she waved to her dad, told him she'd write and she'd see him this winter, and set off with Chiron.

After a few seconds after their descent down the hill, Chiron stopped and looked at Ci's head. Confused, Ci looked up at her head and saw a green-floaty-thing with a bushel of wheat in it. After it had disappeared, Ci turned toward Chiron and asked, "What. Was. That." Chuckling, Chiron replied;
"That, Circe, just told me where you'll be sleeping here at camp." Of course, demanding a better explanation, Ci understood what it meant; she had been claimed, and her mother was Demeter. Ci smiled at this; when her father taught her about the Greek Myths, Demeter had been her favorite goddess. Ci loved her determination and drive, especially when searching for Persephone. For a second, the smile left her face, as the fear that Demeter would never love her as much as she loves Persephone, but Ci shrugged it off and continued walking with Chiron.
Once they had reached the Demeter cabin, Ci's smile became a little bit bigger. The cabin's roof was growing real grass, and not the prickly kind, but the soft kind that is fun to lie on. Climbing up the walls were vines- tomato perhaps, and on the porch, many fragrant flowers were blooming. Walking up the cabin door, Ci gently pushed it open and found that no one was in the cabin at the moment, but one bead did look occupied. Choosing a bead near once of the numerous windows, Ci set her bad down and then followed Chiron back out the cabin.
           ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ci sat down with her cabin at the campfire and looked around.  Kids from all of the different cabins were settling down and getting ready for the Apollo kids to lead them in a song. Smiling, Ci began to sing the rousing song and smiled. She had a feeling she was going to like it here.
